Walking through the front door of Seehafer Broadcasting over the past month has been a bit of a challenge because there were mounds of donations for the Hope House right inside the door. That is not a problem anymore, because three carloads were taken to the local shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
In total, 43 blankets, 9 sheet sets, 12 pillows, 98 personal care items, 8 kid’s toys, 72 clothing items, 24 towel sets, 15 cleaning items, and 14 miscellaneous items were donated to the Hope House.
The generosity of the Manitowoc Community brought joy to the heart of Lillian Lamoreux, the Executive Director of the Hope House.
“We were overwhelmed when we walked in and saw all of these donations,” she said. “We’re super excited that we will be able to bless our families and individuals who are in need this Christmas.”
Lamoreux also said, “We’ve seen, especially this year…the community step up in amazing and incredible ways.”
Lamoreux said that her organization is doing pretty well at the moment. They are currently taking care of 2 families and one individual, and watching the children open presents is a highlight of her year.
This year was the Hope House’s 15th year in existence, serving the lakeshore area.
