Voters in Wisconsin’s 13th Senate District will go to the polls to choose a replacement for former Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald in April.
Governor Tony Evers announced Tuesday a special election will be held April 6th – the same day as the Wisconsin Spring Election.
Fitzgerald won the election for the vacant seat in the Fifth Congressional District last month.
He had been one of the most powerful members of the Wisconsin Legislature.
If a primary for the senate seat is needed, it will be held February 16th. Potential candidates have until January 8th to file their nomination papers.
