The Kohler Company is one step closer to being able to build a new golf course.
The City of Sheboygan’s Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit for the course, but there are some pending lawsuits against Kohler, which need to be taken care of first.
Kohler has been in a legal battle with the Friends of the Black River Forest for about 2 and a half years regarding the development of the course. Also, Kohler’s wetland delineation permit was revoked in 2019 and needs to be reinstated before construction can begin.
There are some people who are concerned about the environmental issues that could result from the construction of the course, namely chemical runoff into Lake Michigan.
