The Green Bay Packers built a big lead in the first half, then had to hold off a charge by Carolina in a 24-16 victory Saturday. The Packers led 21-3 at intermission.
Linebacker Krys Barnes caused a second-quarter fumble when Carolina was at the one-yard line. LaFleur called that the “play of the game.”
Aaron Jones rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries and scored a T-D on a 46-yard run.
Coach Matt LaFleur’s team improved its record to 11-and-3, despite being held to just 49 yards in the third and fourth quarters.
When New Orleans dropped a 32-29 decision to Kansas City Sunday, Green Bay’s chances for a first-round bye in the playoffs got even better.
The Packers stay at home to host Tennessee Sunday night December 27th.
