A Waukesha alderman has resigned after domestic violence charges were filed against him.
Aaron Perry announced his decision on Twitter Thursday.
Perry faces three misdemeanors and one felony charge for an incident where prosecutors say he grabbed the victim by the arms and shoulder and threw her phone on the ground cracking its screen.
The charges are connected to a November 9th incident. Deputies with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office say the 40-year-old alderman appeared to be intoxicated when they were called to the location.
The deputies also say Perry made a veiled threat as they interceded.
