Social distancing requirements are tightening up once again, but that doesn’t mean your business can’t host a fun holiday party. Virtual office parties are an excellent way to bring staff and their families together in a safe and meaningful way, at a time when social connections are more important than ever before.
One of the most important things to go when planning a virtual party is to make it easy to attend. Zoom is a relatively simple program to use, and most people have been using it throughout the pandemic.
A good way to keep people engaged is to get creative with the planned activities. Virtual games are a light-hearted option if your employees are the gaming type. You could also hire a magician or a DJ for a personal show.
And maybe most importantly, limit the length of the party. Screen fatigue is real, and social events can be even more demanding. Even if the party is really going well at the 90-minute mark, it is a good idea to end on a high note, rather than let things take a negative turn.
