Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels made it official this afternoon by filing nomination papers to run for a fourth 4-year-term. In a statement Nickels says “I was overwhelmed by the support I received getting signatures for my nomination papers.
I had 27 individuals help collect signatures for me from all 10 districts throughout the city and we submitted well above the minimum 200 required. In this time of COVID I was very appreciative of all the help I received collecting signatures.
I’m looking forward to a spirited campaign and focusing on how we will continue to move Manitowoc forward.” Nickels was first elected to serve as an alderman at age 18 then to his first term as Mayor in 2009 succeeding Kevin Crawford. Nickels will be challenged by former Alderman Chris Able in the Spring General Election April 6th.
