Wisconsin’s three major league sports franchises are working together to help minority entrepreneurs in the state.
The Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Milwaukee Brewers are collaborating with Microsoft to create what is called the Equity League.
It’s a networking initiative to increase investments in businesses started by Black and Latin people.
The Packers point out that only three-percent of the workers at venture capital investment funds are Black or Latin.
The Equity League is being established to change that narrative.
Packers President and C-E-O Mark Murphy points to the Jacob Blake shooting last August in Kenosha as the point where the idea got its start.
Murphy says Titletown Tech managing director Craig Dickman suggested it first.
