
A local all-male a cappella singing group is lending its’ support to music education programs in Manitowoc County.
The Clipper City Chordsmen recently presented checks for $300.00 each to the music programs of Manitowoc Lincoln and Roncalli High Schools.
The checks were given to Choral Directors David Bowman at Lincoln and Frank Birr at Roncalli by Chordsmen Vice President, Don Lewellen, and the chairman of the Summer Scholarship Program, Bob Fricke.
According to upcoming Chordsmen President Jim Rasmus, “This is our real mission..we love to sing and share our music with the community. However, it is through our local music educators that the next generation will grow to love singing and performing.”
The Clipper City Chordsmen currently has 40 members, ranging in age from 17-to-90, and they are in their 75th year as an organization.
