As we get closer and closer to Christmas, some of the products advertised on social media may seem like a good way to finish up your shopping list, but the Better Business Bureau advises that you use caution.
Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker (BBB.org/ScamTracker) has received thousands of complaints about misleading Facebook and Instagram ads. In fact, the 2018 BBB Scam Tracker Risk Report found that online purchase scams were the most common cons reported to Scam Tracker and the category with the most victims.
Scammers will post the ad claiming that the product supports charity, when in fact, they simply pocket your cash and you never get the product.
As always, be sure to do your research before buying anything from an unsolicited advertisement.
