The Milwaukee Common Council could approve two new members for the city’s Fire and Police Commission later today (Tuesday).
Mayor Tom Barrett has nominated Leon Todd to be the new executive director to replace Griselda Aldrete. She stepped down last month.
The Public Safety and Health Committee unanimously endorsed Todd Monday. Two of the six positions on the FPC are vacant.
Todd is a state public defender and he would be the commission’s fourth director in just three years.
That group is scheduled to vote a third time on choosing a new police chief on January 7th.
