The Two Rivers Fire Department and the IAFF Local 423 is looking to add a little more Christmas cheer to the community this evening, as they will be hosting Christmas at the Beach.
We spoke with Travis Gunderson, a Firefighter, and Paramedic from the Fire Department, and the Vice President who explained that this event is a spin-off of an event they traditionally hold every year.
“Traditionally, the Local 423 has hosted a Breakfast with Santa at the Firehouse, but obviously this year with the pandemic, we are not able to do that,” he said. “We are always here to support our community, and once again, we are stepping up to the plate, and adapting to these unique times.”
Gunderson explained that they are inviting people to come down to Neshotah Beach, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos with children.
He asks people to come down Pierce Street, where there will be a tent handing out hot chocolate. Then you will travel down Neshotah Beech, where a heated tent will be set up. Inside that tent will be Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Gunderson thanked the sponsors of the event, namely Fox Communities Credit Union, Fatsos Sub and Pizza in Two Rivers, Kwik Trip in Two Rivers, Christina’s Cakery and Baked Goods, Grand Rental Station in Manitowoc, Country Visions Cooperative, and Lowes.
