A reminder to the City of Manitowoc residents that we have a Winter Parking Ban, which covers salt routes including bus and truck routes, arterial streets, state highways, and county trunks.
If snow is in the forecast, Mayor Justin Nickels may call a Winter Parking Ban by 4:00 PM. At that point, the ban would go into effect from 1:00 AM-6:00 AM the following morning.
City-wide Snow Emergencies will continue to be called by the Mayor, as needed when a general plow of the entire city is imminent.
Tickets issued during a Winter Parking Ban will be for $50.00, while those violating a Snow Emergency in Manitowoc, will have to fork out $75.00.
Notification of the Winter Parking Ban will be on the city website, www.manitowoc.org, City of Manitowoc App, as well as the city Facebook page, our radio stations, Channel-4, and an email alert. You can also call 686-6550.
