Two of the people who were arrested in Green Bay during the protests back in June are now suing the city.
A curfew was put in place for about a week as protests and riots broke out across the country following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
The lawsuit, brought forth by Gerardo Rodriguez of Allouez and Manali Olesky of Green Bay, alleges that the curfew was unconstitutional because it targeted only protesters and ignored the other people that were out and about those evenings.
The duo, who are Hispanic and Indigenous respectively, also claim that race played a factor in their arrests. The duo wishes to make it a class-action lawsuit, and that their prosecutions be ended.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the city had not been served with the lawsuit and had not responded.
