The Wisconsin National Guard has extended its mission in partnership with Manitowoc County to continue hosting COVID-19 testing sites at the Expo Grounds.
Manitowoc County Emergency Services Director Travis Waack said that they, “found out last week that the mission was extended so we immediately applied to continue to have our site every other Tuesday at the Expo Grounds. So without further delay, we will have our testing site operational beginning December 15th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
Waack went on to say that it is very important to get tested because if you test positive, “You really do need to know what to do so that you can take the appropriate action to make sure you don’t spread the virus to others.”
Testing hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a maximum of 300 tests given per session. They’re free and open to anyone with symptoms or those who have had “close contact” with a positive case.
Rapid or antibody tests are not available and you’ll receive your result via e-mail or a phone call from the state within a few days after being tested.
No appointment is needed but pre-registration is encouraged at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov/en-US/.
