You may have seen the bell ringers out in full force in an attempt to raise money for the Salvation Army, but several local and area banking institutions are taking it one step further.
On Wednesday, December 16th, seven financial institutions are battling it out to see who can raise the most money in a single day.
The banks and credit unions participating in the 2nd Annual Battle of the Financials will volunteer their time for one day as bell ringers. The financial who has the most funds at the end of the day gets the winning trophy.
From 9:00 to 5:00 PM, Associated Bank will be posted at Festival Foods, Bank First at Rob’s Family Market, Fox Community Credit Union will be at Hobby Lobby, CVS will host Investors Community Bank, Kohler Credit Union will be posted at the Piggly Wiggly, Shoreline Credit Union will ring bells at Pick & Save, and UnitedOne Credit Union will be at Walgreens, all in Manitowoc.
Last year, they were able to raise around $5,000 for the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County, and they hope to surpass that this year.
