Ascend Services out of Manitowoc has announced that has begun offering services to children with disabilities.
The expansion of services came about as a response to the large number of children with disabilities staying at home due to the pandemic.
Mentors will work with youth to positively engage them in the community, emphasizing the goal of improving social, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Staff model these skills through activities such as budgeting, arts and crafts, board games, sports, independent living skills, and community resources/programs.
Individualized services are structured specifically to meet the needs of participants and their goals.
