
Manitowoc Fire Rescue Crews responded to a call early yesterday morning at Jageman Plating, located at 1324 South 26th Street.
Fire Chief Todd Blaser says the initial call came in at around 3:20 AM, with reports of visible flames in the barrel room.
Upon arrival, crews noticed smoke coming from the structure. With everyone evacuated safely, and the exterior door was forced open to gain access to the seat of the fire. Crews were able to advance and extinguish the blaze, which was completely under control in around 35 minutes.
Salvage and overhaul operations were performed with a great deal of time spent removing smoke that ad filtered into the business.
No injuries were reported, and no dollar damage estimate is available at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
