Manitowoc Fire and Rescue Crews responded to a call early this morning at Jageman Plating.
Fire Chief Todd Blaser says the initial call came in about 3:20 a.m. with reports of visible flames in the barrel room. Crews upon arrival noticed smoke coming from the structure. With everyone evacuated, an exterior door was forced open to gain access to the seat of the fire. Crews were able to advance and extinguish the blaze and it was fully extinguished within 35 minutes.
Salvage and overhaul operations were performed with a great deal of time spent removing smoke that filtered into the business.
No one was hurt. No dollar damage estimate is available at this time as the fire remains under investigation.
