A cash bond of one million dollars has been set for the 53-year-old man accused of killing a UW student in her home 12 years ago.
David Kahl made a virtual court appearance from the Oshkosh Correctional Institution Thursday.
Kahl is being held there for his seventh drunk driving offense.
Officials say he had just been approved for an early-release program when he was charged with killing Brittany Zimmermann.
Witness testimony and a DNA match finally led investigators to Kahl earlier this year.
Zimmermann was found strangled and stabbed to death in her apartment on April 2nd, 2008.
