For now, at least, the National Guard is done doing COVID-19 testing in Manitowoc County.
Emergency Services Director Travis Waack says 238 people came out to the Expo Grounds Tuesday for the final day of this iteration of National Guard testing. While this mission has come to an end, Waack said, “We are hopeful that the state will extend the Guard’s mission to continue that testing into the future.”
In the meantime-Waack says if you are experiencing any symptoms don’t wait to get tested. There are plenty of places that are still doing the testing, including Holy Family Memorial, Prevea Health, and even CVS.
Waack added although the trend of positive cases is starting to flatten “we are not out of the woods yet.”
The County is working on an aggressive plan to get vaccines out to citizens as quickly as possible.
