The Major League Baseball off-season finally got underway Wednesday with the Milwaukee Brewers making several roster decisions.
The Brewers tendered contract offers to pitchers Brandon Woodruff and Josh Hader, a pair of All-Stars. It resigned shortstop Orlando Arcia, first baseman Daniel Vogelbach, and catchers Omar Narvaez and Manny Pina.
There was also a significant trade, with former closer Corey Knebel going to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a deal for a “player to be named later” or cash.
The team decided to non-tender contracts to utility player Jace Peterson, pitcher Alex Claudio, and outfielder Ben Gamel.
