Sophomore forward Tyler Wahl came off the Badgers bench in the first half and gave his team the energy it needed to claim an 82-42 win over cross-state rival U-W-Green Bay Tuesday night.
Wahl scored 11 points, took down 15 rebounds, handed out four assists, blocked a couple of shots, and had two steals in 20 minutes of court time.
Coach Greg Gard’s team had five in double figures, led by Micah Potter’s 14. Josh Jefferson led Green Bay with a dozen.
Life gets easier for the Phoenix (0-2) when they play Eastern Illinois Saturday in their home opener.
The Badgers (3-0) travel to Marquette to face the Golden Eagles Friday.
