Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski says his team’s offense was “anemic” Tuesday night, and he’s not wrong.
The stifling zone defense played by Oklahoma State held the Golden Eagles to 26-percent shooting in the second half of a 70-62 loss at the Fiserv Forum.
Marquette jumped out to a 17-4 lead before the visitors scored 15 points in a row. The Golden Eagles wound up committing 24 turnovers.
Although they led at the half, 35-32, they missed 10 of their first 11 shots after the break.
Guard Koby McEwen led the scoring with 21 points.
Marquette (2-1) faces another strong test Friday when they take on number-four Wisconsin.
