
A Manitowoc man is facing his 4th OWI charge after he drove drunk and fled from police early this morning.
Officers were dispatched to the area surrounding the South 10th Street Kwik Trip on a report of an impaired driver. The sported the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the gas station and approached the vehicle.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was visibly drunk and was talking on the phone with a woman. He reportedly told her to make up a story that she drove him to the store, and that she needed to pick him up.
When the officers told him that they were placing him under arrest, he took off on foot but stopped once the officer threatened to send K9 Major after him.
The man is now facing his 4th OWI charge along with charges of Resisting an Officer, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and THC.
