The Green Bay Police Department is one step closer to getting some new equipment for their officers.
Last month, the Department began the process of purchasing new body cameras and recently announced that they have decided to buy from Axon.
Representatives from Axon gave a presentation to the City Council yesterday, where they said they would be supplying tasers, body cameras, and upgrades to the in-car cameras for the officers.
The Appleton Police Department also utilizes Axon, so if and when the Green Bay Police are called to investigate an incident, much like they did last year when the firefighter was killed at the Transit Center, sharing video files will be much easier.
The next step in the process is to get the bill approved by the Finance Committee, who will gather next Tuesday.
