Bail is set at $2500 recognizance for a 26-year-old Manitowoc man facing multiple charges including Operating While Intoxicated-Fourth Offense.
Alec D. Koad is also charged with Resisting an Officer and Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Police responded to the Kwik Trip on South 10th St. early Wednesday morning on the report of an impaired driver.
Koad’s vehicle was spotted in the store’s parking lot. Officers say Koad was “visibly drunk” and talking to a woman on the phone. After his story didn’t pan out, Koad fled on foot but stopped once he heard that K-9 Major was coming after him and he was taken into custody without incident.
Conditions of bail are that Koad not operate a vehicle and maintain absolute sobriety and his initial appearance is set for January 25th at 9:30 a.m.
