
Sheboygan Mayor Mike Vandersteen has announced that he will be seeking his third term in office.
In his announcement, Vandersteen said that he looks to keep his plan on track to strengthen neighborhoods increase recycling, and to continue to resurface the roadways in his city.
While COVID-19 has taken its toll on the city budget, Vandersteen said he was more concerned about the small businesses that are struggling due to the pandemic, and the citizens who have lost jobs.
Vandersteen was first elected into the office in 2013 and successfully ran a reelection campaign in 2017.
Several other individuals have expressed interest in vying for the highest office in the city, but none have made official announcements as of yet.
