A 3-star recruit from the Twin Cities has announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers football program.
Linebacker Jake Ratzlaff had given a verbal commitment to play hockey for the Minnesota Gophers when he was a freshman in high school.
The six-foot-three, 215-pounder had listed the Badgers and Gophers as his finalists when he decided to play football in Division One.
He also had offers from Iowa and Iowa State.
His decision to focus on football may have been influenced by the fact he wasn’t taken in the 2020 N-H-L Draft earlier this year.
