The Manitowoc Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident Monday afternoon.
A 37-year-old woman was walking with her children on Division Street near the intersection of South 26th Street when they spotted a dog running back ad forth across the street. The mother told her children to walk the other direction when the canine charged at them. The woman put herself between the children and the dog and was bitten on her left calf in the process.
The suspect dog was described as a small to medium-sized brown and white dog, weighing approximately 5-10 lbs., with white curly hair. The victim believed the dog was wearing a collar but could not provide a better description.
Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Manitowoc Police Department at 920-686-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 920-683-4466.
