
Milwaukee police say the Thanksgiving holiday weekend was a particularly violent one.
Officers had to work three fatal shootings on Thanksgiving Day alone.
A teenager and two men in their mid-30s were killed Thursday.
There was no rest for the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office. It tweeted that it had responded to four homicides and three probable overdoses in a 24-hour period.
Police say their officers have responded to another five non-fatal shootings since Friday.
Studies show Milwaukee isn’t alone and other U-S cities are experiencing a similar increase in violent incidents.
Milwaukee County’s confirmed count of homicide at 195 is a 64-percent increase from the same time period last year.
