Many people are celebrating Thanksgiving a little differently this year, a fact that was not lost on DATCP Secretary-designee Randy Romanski.
In an open letter, he reflects on this crazy year and the sacrifices made during the holiday season, saying, “I (along with many others) wish this holiday season were different, but I understand we need to make these difficult choices now for our individual health, for the health and safety of those we love, and for our state.”
He did also say that for many farm families, some traditions will remain alive and well.
“Parents and children across Wisconsin will wake up before dawn to milk their cows,” Romanski explained. “Milk haulers will still drive down town roads, emptying bulk tanks and hauling full loads to our cheese processors.”
He went on to call on everyone to remember those who don’t get the day off today and those who will continue to work to ensure you have food to put on your table all year long.
