COVID-19 has made celebrating the holidays a bit of a challenge, something the City of Two Rivers has felt as well.
During his City of Two Rivers Update, yesterday on WOMT and WCUB Radio, City Manager Greg Buckley reminded everyone of a cancelation this weekend. The annual Holiday Parade will not be taking place.
Buckley explained that it is due in large part to “the unavailability of parade units. Bands aren’t practicing, and people aren’t gathering to put floats together. So we do encourage people to get out and enjoy the holiday decorations. Lights and decorations are going up in the Downtown this week in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.”
He also said that the city-wide parking ban will go into effect next week, and will continue through March 15th. “We want to be flexible on the parking ban,” he said, “But on the other hand, it is on the books for a reason and that’s to ensure safe conditions for snow removal.”
For more information on the parking ban, visit www.Two-Rivers.org, or the City hall and Police Department Facebook pages.
Buckley will issue a new update every Tuesday at 8:05 AM on 107.9 FM WOMT, 97.1 FM WCUB, and at WOMTRadio.com and CubRadio.com.
