A federal judge has sentenced the former village president of Clyman to two years in prison.
Michael Siegel had pleaded guilty to one count of sex trafficking. Prosecutors accused him of using his former strip club called The Hardware Store to promote prostitution.
Siegel initially claimed he didn’t know the dancers at the club were performing sex acts for money between 2010 and 2018.
U-S District Judge Pamela Pepper said the 53-year-old Siegel’s view of himself as a family man and upstanding community member was keeping him “from taking a deeper, harder look at what he was enabling.”
