A local developer continues to see growth on the former Elks Club Golf Course in Manitowoc.
Alex Allie, one of the owners of his family’s real estate company, tells SeehaferNews.com they own and are developing the former golf course with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan.
Following the construction of Angelus Senior Living community & placement of a roundabout, the City also installed Bayshore Drive and Baypointe Road, which are now open to the public. “We also sold some land to BayCare, which is under construction right now with their 46,000 square-foot clinic,” Allie explained. “I believe their timeframe on that is to have that completed by the fall of next year.”
He also said they “Are also building two apartment buildings on Bayshore Drive, across from BayCare, and a clubhouse, and we plan to have those by the summer of next year. We also have plans for more apartment buildings there that will be constructed next year as well.”
Allie says they’ve also sold a piece of land adjacent to the roundabout to Community First Credit Union for a future branch location. He stated they are working on plans for condominium development for next year, on the north end of Bayshore Drive, east of Parkview Lane. “For those we are planning on doing single-family homes, which would belong to the condo association, so all of your lawn, snow, and maintenance would be taken care of,” he explained. “We are really gearing those up so they are zero barrier entry and very accessible and easy for people to own and maintain. It’s a flexible number but we easily have room there for easily for a dozen to two dozen condos.”
Allie says they still have six-and-a-half acres available along Memorial Drive, “Were the old knights of Columbus used to be, and there are a couple of houses there. That land is still available, it has not been sold or developed at this point.”
Alex Allie also told us they’ve had a pretty quick turnaround with developing the land and are very happy with the interest they’ve had out there people really like what they’re seeing.
They have a major focus on keeping the area looking very natural and the Allie company is working with the city on tree planting & will donate about 11-acres of land behind the apartment complex for the city to develop future trails and a bridge over the Little Manitowoc River to Lincoln Park.
