Life without the country’s top scorer starts Wednesday for the Marquette Golden Eagles.
Coach Steve Wojciechowski has to replace the 41 points-a-game Markus Howard and second-leading scorer Sacar Anim produced last season.
The Eagles host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Fiserv Forum Wednesday at 9:00 p-m.
Wojciechowski has three freshmen on his roster that were four-star prospects – Dawson Garcia, Osasere Ighodaro, and Justin Lewis.
He’s expecting a lot of production out of Ohio State transfer guard D-J Carton, but it all begins with returning senior starters Koby McEwen and Theo John.
Marquette was 18-and-12 last season but lost six of its last seven games before the coronavirus pandemic stopped the competition.
