
Even though the numbers can swing drastically in a one day span, the COVID-19 report issued yesterday by the Manitowoc County Health Department does look promising.
For the second day in a row, the number of new cases was significantly lower than we had been seeing over the past couple of months, with 40 new cases reported. Also, a record high 140 patients have recovered from the virus, leaving 4,567 total cases since the start of the pandemic, 1,978 of which are still active, and 2,556 recoveries.
Also of note, the number of hospitalized patients has gone down for the 4th consecutive day, now at 172, and 83% of the ICU beds in the Northeast Region of Hospitals are occupied, a drop of 3%.
102 negative tests were reported yesterday as well, raising that number to 22,770 since March, and no new deaths leave the death toll at 33.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, 177 new cases were added over the weekend into Monday. The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health also reported a whopping 324 recoveries, leaving their pandemic totals at 8,350 cases, 2,448 of which are still active, and 5,854 recoveries.
They also reported 706 negative tests, raising that number to 35,297, while their death toll remained stagnant at 48.
