President-elect Joe Biden’s choice to be US ambassador to the United Nations says she will work to “restore America’s standing in the world.”
Linda Thomas-Greenfield is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She went to work at the US Department of State more than 30 years ago.
Her choice is thought to be an indicator of Biden’s intent for this country to return to a more traditional role in the UN.
Her name was one of several released by Biden’s office Monday as the transition to the White House builds momentum.
