The Rahr-West Art Museum has announced they’ve canceled their 2020 “Christmas in the Mansion” exhibition and instead will decorate the historic Vilas-Rahr Mansion in festive lights and trimmings for the Holiday Season.
Museum Director Greg Vadney issued a statement this morning, “This is a decision we definitely don’t want to make. Christmas in the Mansion is an annual tradition and we wanted to exhaust all possibilities before making this announcement. We understand that the community needs the holiday spirit more this year than ever and we are going to make sure that anyone who passes the museum will know that despite being closed we are committed to sharing a joyful experience this year.”
Meanwhile, with social distancing regulations keeping children from sitting on Santa’s lap, the museum has added a special “North Pole Mailbox” on the porch of the historic Vilas-Rahr Mansion for young ones to drop off their letters to Santa.
