Just days before the college basketball season opens, the Marquette Golden Eagles have received some surprisingly good news.
Transfer guard Jose Perez won’t have to sit out a season after arriving from Gardner Webb.
The N-C-A-A granted Perez a transfer waiver in a decision announced Saturday.
In two seasons with the Bulldogs, he averaged 15 points, six rebounds, and 3.5 assists-a-game.
Although he played two seasons with the North Carolina school, the bonus COVID-19 season means he could be on the court for the Golden Eagles for the next three seasons.
