Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley recently presented a special proclamation to the Clipper City Chordsmen for their 75th Anniversary.
Chordsmen Director Dave Buss & Assistant Director Derek Luckow were on hand for the presentation at the Two Rivers Council meeting.
In his remarks, Buckley noted that the pandemic had delayed the opportunity to give public recognition of this achievement.
He stated, “This year, on April 1st, the Chordsmen celebrated their 75th anniversary of their chartering.” Buckley continued “The Chordsmen certainly have brought joy to many through their concerts & special occasions here in Two Rivers and throughout the county and around our state. We were kind of hoping to have some sort of live-singing here tonight, but Covid-19 has been pretty tough on all live performances this year.”
In receiving the proclamation, Buss remarked, “What was meant to be a year of history, nostalgia and celebration of 75 years for the chorus turned into a year where we haven’t physically been together as a group since the first week of March.” He continued, “We do meet virtually every week so that we can at least have some social times & some singing with the group.”
The Clipper City Chordsmen are members of the Barbershop Harmony Society and the Land O’ Lakes District, which is part of Minnesota, North Dakota, and Canada.
