COVID-19 has or is changing Thanksgiving plans for a lot of people.
Holy Family Memorial’s Chief Nursing Officer, Tom Veeser, explained to SeehaferNews.com that every family is different, and you need to do a thorough assessment of the dynamics of your family.
“You need to do a thorough assessment of your family dynamics,” Veeser said. “Where they’re coming in from and who’s very vulnerable within your family should influence how aggressive you are at managing family get-together time.” He suggested that if you have somebody very vulnerable, strongly consider having a holiday meal with only people you live with.
In general for everybody, Veeser says, try to avoid unnecessary conduct or contact for 14-days, “especially those with severe illness. Make sure you take your temperature and anybody with a temperature over 100.4 really should not participate.” And, the HFM official emphasized that when you’re indoors wear your mask, stay at least 6-feet apart and wash your hands frequently.
