The Milwaukee Brewers have taken a proactive step with the promotion of the team’s new general manager, Matt Arnold.
He had been strongly considered for that position with other clubs – most recently the California Angels.
The Brewers announced Thursday their assistant G-M had been promoted to the top job.
President of baseball operations David Stearns called Arnold’s promotion “extraordinarily deserved.”
Stearns says he and the 41-year-old Arnold had already been splitting a lot of front office duties and says the two will continue to work closely together.
