An Oshkosh man accused of shooting his former girlfriend, killing her father, and wounding a second man has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
That means Joshua Aide would get two trials – one to determine if he is guilty and a second to decide if he should be held responsible for his actions depending on what his mental state was at the time.
Prosecutors accused Aide of shooting Rebecca Borkowski, then killing her father, 59-year-old James Gruettner.
57-year-old John Miller was wounded even though he was only present to repair a radiator on Borkowski’s car.
May 3rd has been scheduled as the start date for Aide’s trial.
