A 22-year-old Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened two people with a knife.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of South 19th Street at around 4:00 yesterday (Monday) morning on a report of a physical altercation where one of the men involved threatened the other with a knife.
When the first officer arrived on the scene, the suspect began to flee but stopped once a second squad car pulled up. The man was taken into custody as he was wanted on three active warrants and had attempted to flee the scene.
According to the witness, the suspect and a second individual began arguing over a barking dog, and both attempted to punch the other person. The suspect then entered the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and threatened to kill the other man with it.
The second man left the scene at the request of the witness who owns the home, and the suspect exited the home a short while later, also threatening the homeowner.
The suspect has been charged with Obstructing an Officer and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. It’s not clear if any more charges will be filed, as the witness told officers he was not pressing any charges.
