The Capitol Civic Center confirmed yesterday that they are the recipient of a COVID-19 Cultural Organization Grant of $97,400.67 from the state of Wisconsin.
The grant program, administered by the Wisconsin Department of Administration, provides grants to non-profit organizations whose primary missions are to produce, present, or exhibit cultural disciplines such as dance, literature, and the visual arts or items of environmental or scientific interest.
Grant awards can be used to cover pandemic-related impacts such as lost revenue increased workers’ compensation costs-cleaning and sanitation and purchases of services or equipment to facilitate telework by employees.
Capitol Executive Director P.J. Albert Stated in a news release, ”The grant monies we have been awarded will help the Capitol recoup some lost revenue from the pandemic. While this is truly a significant source of aid we continue to look for additional resources to bridge the gap resulting from an unprecedented loss since halting live performances six months ago. Every gift at this time affects the health of the organization and is greatly appreciated.”
Governor Tony Evers announced that $15 million in COVID-19 Cultural Organization Grants has been awarded to 385 such organizations across Wisconsin.
