The Interfaith Justice group in Manitowoc County, RUTH (Responding with Understanding Truth and Hope) is preparing to host a Thanksgiving-themed event today.
A “Car Caravan of Thanksgiving” will begin at 9:45 AM in front of Aurora Medical Center on Memorial Drive, according to RUTH member Nancy Slattery. She told SeehaferNews.com they “Just basically to say thank you to everyone who has been keeping themselves safe from COVID-19 so they can work with people with the virus and other medical problems. We want to say thank you for working.”
This morning’s event begins with a Prayer of Thanksgiving led by RUTH member, Pastor Carly Kuntz, for all our dedicated health care workers and everyone who is keeping us as safe and healthy as possible in this time of COVID.
Slattery explained the caravan will then leave from AMC at 10:00 AM, and they will then split up with “one group going north to Two Rivers, with maybe 2-to-3 groups traveling to Manitowoc and will go past the different nursing homes, assisted living locations, medical facilities and honk their car horns to say thank you.” Slattery explained.”
The parade will end at the corner of S. 9th &Marshall Streets in Manitowoc, where the County Health Department is located.
Anyone who would like to join the Interfaith Justice group for today’s Car Caravan of Thanksgiving is welcome to do so. Just be in the parking lot of the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers by 9:45 AM.
