The family of the man who died in a 2018 OWI crash is requesting that they be allowed to sit in the courtroom as the suspect is sentenced.
Timothy Hallet was felling police on December 16th, 2018 at speeds of over 100 MPH, when he struck a vehicle driven by Christopher Klein. Klein died in the incident.
Hallet was found guilty of multiple charges, including Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, and Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, and is scheduled to be sentenced this Friday.
Over 50 of Christopher’s closest family and friends have requested to come to the courthouse for the sentencing to see Hallet be prosecuted in person. Judge Jerilyn Dietz has requested an exemption from the Chief Judge, to allow for this to happen.
We received a statement from a family member, who said, “Timothy may have to sit in prison for a few years, but that will never add up to what he has taken from Christopher or from his family and friends. We will never get the years and memories he has stolen from us back.”
