American Education Week is being celebrated nationwide starting tomorrow, November 16th, through Friday, November 20th.
Manitowoc Public Schools Superintendent Mark Holzman says, “This is an opportunity to recognize over 700 employees in the Manitowoc Public School District who have a part in making a difference in the lives of kids. Whether that be our bus drivers, teachers, instructional assistants, administrators along with countless other staff. We just want to say ‘Thank You.’”
Holzman says it’s also important for “kids at heart” to celebrate, “We probably have in our minds some of the favorite teachers we’ve had and the impact they’ve had on us to say ‘Thank You’ too.”
The MPSD Superintendent admits it’s not the same being in school but plenty of internal ‘Thank You’s will be sent out adding “We really want to send out our deepest respect and appreciation to all of those who are really working hard and doing things differently [during the pandemic] unlike in any other time before.”
