Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes is getting some notice from national baseball writers.
Burnes finished sixth in the voting for the National League Cy Young Award. Cincinnati’s Trevor Bauer took 27 of the 30 first-place votes to finish first.
Yu Darvish of the Cubs and Jacob deGrom of the Mets were far behind.
Burnes pitched to a 2.11 earned run average this season, striking out more than 13 batters-per-nine-innings.
Reliever Devin Williams also picked up some votes, finishing eighth after a season which saw him named National League Rookie of the Year and Reliever of the Year.
